The The Wonderlic ATB Program has been approved by the U.S. Department of Education for use in qualifying non-high school graduates for Federal Title IV “Ability-to-Benefit” Funding. The program is comprehensive and covers everything from using an approved test, registering and reviewing Independent Test Administrators (ITA), official scoring of the tests by Wonderlic and statistical reporting.
The U.S. Department of Education approves tests and passing scores for the ATB program. Two Wonderlic tests are approved for use in the ATB program. For programs taught in English, the Wonderlic Basic Skills Test is used. For programs taught in Spanish, the Scholastic Level Exam in Spanish is used.
If there is a reason to doubt the accuracy of a test administration, such as a disruption during the testing session or a test score that falls within less than one standard error of measurement, the applicant should be retested. The rules for retesting are very specific in terms of waiting time and test form usage. For more details, click here.
A quarterly report is provided to each school and ITA participating in the Wonderlic ATB Program. This report presents local testing norms and is designed to help schools monitor their testing programs for accuracy, fairness and compliance with Wonderlic Procedures and U.S. Department of Education regulations.
